YOAKUM A&M CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
The Yoakum A&M Club will provide scholarships for outstanding students selected from the
following high schools: Hallettsville, Moulton, Nordheim, Sacred Heart, Shiner, St. Paul, Cuero,
Yoakum, and Yorktown.
Applicants must be high school seniors who intend to attend TAMU at College Station, Texas.
Selection of the awardees will be based on scholastic achievement, leadership potential, and
scholastic potential.
Scholastic ranking, after completion of the first half of the senior year, must place the applicant in the upper one-fourth of the class.
The applicant’s SAT or ACT score must accompany the application, as well as the letter of acceptance from Texas A&M.
A typewritten (double spaced) essay, not to exceed two pages, will be required of each applicant. This essay is to accompany the application form. Subject of the essay is “Why I Want to Attend TAMU.”
Place the items noted above in an envelope. Leave the envelope with your counselor or principal.
Deadline for applications is March 8, 2024.
Reminder: Applicants must remember to do the following:
- Complete the application form
- Attach a 3″ X 5″ photograph
- High school transcript
- Copy of college entrance test scores (ACT and/or SAT),
- Letter of acceptance
- Two page typewritten (double spaced) essay on “Why I Want to Attend TAMU.”
Finalists will be required to meet with the scholarship committee before final selection is made. Candidates will be notified of date, location, and time of interview.
Final selection of the awardees will be made in April. The awardees and their parents will be guests of the Yoakum A&M Club at the annual Aggie Muster and Banquet to be held at the Yoakum Community Center in Yoakum on April 21, 2024.
