Guest Speaker:
Dr. Jeffrey Savell – Vice Chancellor and Dean for Agriculture and Life Sciences
Dr. Savell has devoted four decades to The Texas A&M University System’s
land-grant mission of teaching, research, extension and service. He has taught
more than 13,000 Aggies and mentored 170 graduate students in their research,
and he continues to teach. In 2024, he was among his fields’ top 2% most cited
researchers. His extension work includes extremely popular outreach programs
such as Camp Brisket and Barbecue Summer Camp. As vice chancellor and dean,
he saw enrollment in the Texas A&M College of Agriculture and Life Sciences
increase by 33%. He is a Texas A&M University Distinguished Professor, a Regents
Professor, and a Meat Science and E.M. “Manny” Rosenthal Chairholder in Animal
Science.
